What is a fanlisting?

What is this fanlisting about?
It's for the character Allen Francis Doyle from the tv show Angel. Doyle is human on his mother's side and demon on his father's, but didn't know that he was half demon until he was 21. Why is the site called 'More Than The Hero'?
In the episode 'Hero' (1x09) of Angel, Doyle sacrifies himself, and he is a hero. However, there is much more to his character than that.
